engineering. This book presents an intensive overview and covers all important aspects of chemical process control. The various topics included here are process modelling, various control schemes, dynamic analysis of processing systems, analysis and design of digital computer control systems, and synthesis of multivariable control configurations. The author of this book places emphasis on the analysis of posed control problems and problem formulation. Two important issues related to the subject are discussed here. The first one is the hardware elements that are required for practical implementation of various control schemes. And the second one is the concepts of controller design. The book briefly describes the control systems found in chemical processes. Moreover, the design of control systems for multivariable processes is explained. The author has explained the control of a chemical process and its characteristics and associated problems. The modeling of the dynamic and static behavior of chemical processes is explained in the book. Also, the author presents analyses of dynamic behavior of chemical processes, feedback control systems, and advanced control systems. A basic introduction to plant control has also been provided. Additionally, numerous examples have been included for better understanding of the subject. Questions are also added at the end of each chapter.
G Stephanopoulos has written other books such as Metabolic Engineering: Principles and Methodologies, On-Line Fault Detection and Supervision in the Chemical Process Industries (IFAC Symposia Series), and Biotechnology: A Multi-Volume Comprehensive Treatise.
