The Lausanne Covenant, issuing from that event, would define evangelicalism for the remainder of the century.Michael Y Oh, Lausanne's current Executive Director, writes in his Afterword of the Movement's two-fold aspiration, namely to share wisdom which is biblical, strategic, and timely, and to produce and share teaching of enduring worth, and global and eternal impact.Christ gave gifts to his Church to share, and the Lausanne Movement has been memorably described as an exchange of gifts, that is, gifts from the church on one continent to the church on another, and gifts from the global church to the local church, and to individual Christians.
