Law is a social contract. It grows out of the needs of the people. While law involves fairness and efficiency, the major purpose of our legal system is to provide civil justice. It's time for Americans to end the blame culture whereby too many matters end up in litigation or remain unresolved. By adopting new policies, we can become less legalistic and improve the quality of our lives and the lives of those around us.
