The textbook integrates the study of French language and culture with the study of films. Films are used not only for their ability to generate high interest among students, but also because they provide a range of cultural experiences, idiomatic expressions, interesting and real world situations, as well as being themselves important reflections of modern French artistic endeavors. Cinéphile is comprised of nine chapters, each of which is centered around a different film. Each chapter also includes short authentic readings in support of the grammar and cultural issues as well as a multiplicity of exercises. The text is in four color, is amply illustrated, and is accompanied by an exercise book, an instructor’s edition, a test bank and an answer key to the exercise book.
