This book came to be precisely out of such a process--the desire to gather a group of mature Franciscans to share their personal knowledge and contemplative experience of contemporary Franciscan theology. We wanted to remain true to our heritage, but we could not simply transport it into our postmodern world. While the truths might be the same, the issues certainly are not.
