could be your last. The Will to Live: The Power of His Divine Intervention not only chronicles my survival journey, but also illuminates the how and why! It's my legacy for the living! On Sunday, August 29, we made plans to fire up the grill, hang out with friends, and watch the football game. It was just another Sunday. The guys were outside starting the fire, while the ladies were inside preparing the food. Then all of a sudden our fun-filled afternoon turned into a nightmare! A fiery backyard explosion nearly ended my life. Suffering from second and third degree burns over 80% of my body, my life as a young husband and a new father with a budding career was quickly put on hold. With a slim chance of survival, the doctors didn’t have much hope for me. The lead physician at Washington, DC's Providence Hospital was just two years older than I, and still at the threshold of his career. They called in the hospital's priest to administer the last rites. I pleaded with God to forgive me and give me one more chance to live. He answered my prayers! My ultimate survival depended upon two things - my will to live, and my willingness to welcome God's powerful intervention.
