highly active mind. This meal plan has been set out as a 5-day meal plan, with recipes for each meal and snack. In most cases, you can make more than 1 meal’s worth of quantity, so you can mix and match the meals, and could even spread this meal plan out to be for 7 or even 10 days. It all depends on what is easiest for you. Following the Meal Plan is the shopping list which will supply you with all the ingredients you will need to make everything on this Meal Plan. The DFNP (Drug Free Solutions Nutrition Program) presents a balanced diet to provide your child with all the essential vitamins and minerals required to keep their minds actively engaged, and their bodies more under the control of their minds. Where applicable, the alternatives have been listed to avoid gluten and casein. The meals are also low in sugar, colour-free, and additives-free. Drinks have not been listed however, your child should be drinking water as much as possible. Where fruit juices are consumed, make sure you buy the types with no added sugar, and for younger children, water them down a little. Soft drinks should be avoided, especially those that are artificially sweetened (i.e. low fat or diet). You will also notice minimal meat being used in the lunches. This is to avoid food spoilage and potential build up of bacteria, as schools rarely have refrigerators available for children to store their food. It is also important to try and use organic ingredients as much as possible. This will assist in minimising the hormones and pesticides that your child is exposed to.
