story unfolds as parents Michael and Pamela rediscover their own individual identities. Carla, their daughter, experiences her dawning pubescence while at the same time her grandparents’ repressed sexuality is revealed. Each generation reacts very differently as they endeavour to continue with their lives whilst adjusting to the changing developments around them. Secrets, deception, addiction, bullying and family dynamics all play their part in this story, but there is also loyalty, friendship, warmth and humour. The characters are fictional, and drawn from all walks of life, but their strengths and vulnerabilities will strike a familiar chord with many readers.
