A student who completes this course will have the basic training and skills to assist a person who is ill or injured or who has a life-threatening condition. Highlights of the workbook include: chapter Learning Activities to help students comprehend and retain the most important information. Scenarios, taken from real-life emergency situations, are included to afford students the opportunity to apply the knowledge learned; Expanded Course Content including the 2015 updates in changes to CPR and First Aid; Skill Check Sheets used to evaluate the student's ability to meet minimum competencies in the provision of basic emergency care; and Algorithms (decision making trees) which emphasize the emergency action steps of CHECK-CALL-CARE for selected skills.
