Chapters 4, 6 and 13 deal with basic quantities that interest all engineers and should be included in any course on “Mechanical Measurements”. Parts of other chapters may be included to suit the requirements of a particular class. The book may also be useful to practicing engineers who want to refresh their knowledge of measurements. The material of the book is based on the notes prepared for a course taught by the author at IIT Madras for more than 20 years.
