All the investigations have a statement of the problem which is designed to be both readily understandable and to contain an aspect of challenge. Each one also has a commentary which describes possible approaches and indicates the links with other strands of the mathematical curriculum. The first 18 investigations have fuller commentaries than the others and include advice from a wider use of the material in the classroom and ideas for extensions. This book is an excellent resource for all teachers and shows what can be achieved by using a problem solving approach in the mathematics classroom.
