implementing a multicultural curriculum.   In Part I, this text provides a definition of multicultural education that includes all types of diversity and explores a variety of foundational issues and models. In Part II, the text hones in on various cultural groups to help pre-service teachers better understand the backgrounds of diverse learners. Finally, Part III offers teacher candidates a series of applied chapters that focus on planning a multicultural curriculum, using the most effective instructional practices with diverse learners, and working successfully with families of diverse students, and collaborating with school personnel and administrators to implement a multicultural program.
