- How does SlugBooks.com work?
SlugBooks.com is a free service that searches the Internet for the lowest prices between the cheapest internet textbook retailers, your college's bookstore and your peer student sellers. SlugBooks.com doesn't sell textbooks; we scour the net and provide a marketplace for current students to find the best prices on textbooks.
Buyer's Guide
- How do I find books for my class?
Click on "Course Search" on the top menu bar, accessible from any page within the website. On that page, simply select your course's department/subject and then number/title.
- How do I order books?
After you find your book, look at the price comparison table; also look at the student textbook listing below this table (if applicable). If you want to purchase from an internet site, just click on the price for the store you want to purchase from; a new window will open on the merchant site. From there you can add your book to the cart and check out. If you decide the bookstore or a student listing is a better deal for you, you can contact the student from the link at the listing or go to the bookstore.
- How do I pay for my books?
You can pay for your books with a major credit card like visa, mastercard, discover, or American express. Some stores also accept alternative payments including debit cards, online checks, and paypal. Please see the partner bookstore website for exact payment methods. If you are purchasing from a fellow student through the student listings, we advise that you pay in cash when you meet that person for the exchange.
- There are no books and/or only a reader for your course
- Your course has a highly customized book bundle that only the bookstore sells (example: Aplia)
- It is possible that we were unclear on the edition of the textbook and decided to not list the book, rather than take a chance on a wrong edition.
Shipping and Returns
- How much is shipping?
Shipping costs vary depending on which bookstore you buy from, how many books you buy, and if you select standard or express shipping.
- How do I return my book?
SlugBooks.com is an independent shopping service that finds the lowest textbook prices on the Internet, and we do not sell textbooks directly. When you click on a "BUY" link, we hand you off to the store where you place your order. Please contact the store where you placed your order to return your book.
Order Tracking
- How do I track my order?
Contact the bookstore partner where you placed your order to find out your order status.
- How do I cancel my order/item?
To cancel your order, contact the bookstore you bought from before your order ships.
- I never received my order
If you never received your order, contact the bookstore you bought from to report the issue right away.
Seller's Guide
- How do I sell my book?
In order to list your book to be sold, you will need to register for an account on the website, which is a free and painless process. After you have registered and logged in, go to the coursepage for the class that you have a book for. At the bottom of the page there is a "have a book for this course that you'd like to list?" link. Simply click this link and list your book and you should start hearing back from students in no time. Students replying to your book listing respond through a shielded form on our website and never see your e-mail address until you respond to their email.
