The University of Michigan-Dearborn, gifted with 196 acres by Ford Motor Company, was founded in 1959. Nineteen million dollars is offered in freshmen scholarships annually, and scholarships are also offered for transfer and graduate students. UM-D is well known for its elite engineering and management programs and now offers programs across all disciplines.
