Northwestern University is one the largest research universities in America and receives over $500 million in research grants yearly. Currently, Northwestern University has over 15,000 students enrolled in both undergraduate and graduate programs at both its campuses. The school, which was founded in 1851, is also a founding member of the Big Ten Conference.
